Free WiFi in Tenerife!

A new free wifi internet service has finished its test phase and will be rolling out coverage over the Costa Adeje areas of Playa de las Americas and Los Cristianos in Tenerife.  The new WiFi Mundo system offers free wifi in Tenerife that can be accessed by phone or laptop, along with a range of other services.  

WiFi Mundo provides a free information service for tourists, which shows where they are on the map of the area.  Users can then filter the map to show bars, restaurants and shops around them.  

Users can also access the Tenerife free wi-fi info system from the internet... click the link and have a play around!  There are some 4,000 businesses and places interest mapped over the resort areas of Playa de Las Americas and los Cristianos.

Businesses in the Costa Adeje area will soon be invited to ‘claim their listings’ in order to add more details, photographs and search tags.  

WiFi Mundo also has a customisable magazine section with hundreds of articles about the local area and things to do in Tenerife.  Modules showing an events calendar and a discount offer system are to be added in the near future.

Accessing the internet free, users see advertising scrolling at the top of their browser.  Free access is provided at dial up speed, so at times it can be painfully slow.  Premium access, without advertising and at adsl speed is also available.
