Community in Tenerife
If you are new to the island, then meeting and mingling amongst experienced expats can be a vital help to settling in. Weekends can become very full with these social gatherings, and in many cases they can spill into the weekdays too. Expat residents in Tenerife are naturally sociable, and there are all sorts of clubs and groups. Tenerife Lifeline lists many of the clubs and groups in Tenerife, few of which have websites.
Meet fellow expats in Tenerife by joining one of the animal charities, such as K9 Tenerife, Live Arico or Dingo Dogs. Alternatively, charity fundraising groups have an active social life. The Tenerife Lions Clubs hold golf tournaments and other events, and the Friends of Tenerife hold a variety of fundraising events. Of course, churches in Tenerife are much more than just meeting points, but they are certainly a good way to meet fellow Tenerife residents. And if you need help, there are groups that may help you through a difficult time.
